## The "Aha Moment"

This is where Intangle's intelligence really shines. As you save memories, tasks & processes the AI automatically:

- Identifies themes and patterns

- Creates semantic topics

- Groups related information

- Surfaces what's most relevant and recent

**You don't organize** - the AI organizes for you.

## What Are Topics?

### Traditional Note-Taking Apps

**YOU** manually tag and categorize everything yourself.

### Intangle

The **AI** automatically generates semantic topics from your content.

### Example

You save several memories about:

- "Fixed authentication bug in user login"

- "API endpoint for token refresh"

- "Security review of password reset flow"

**The AI creates a topic:** "AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM"

You never created this category - the AI understood the theme and created it automatically.

## Where to Find Topics

### In the Web App

1. Open the Intangle web app

2. Look at the **left sidebar**

3. Below the navigation items, you'll see a **"TOPICS"** section

4. Here you'll find a list of auto-generated topics from your current space

### Topic Ordering

Topics are ordered by **relevance** using a smart weighting algorithm:

**Formula:** `weight = frequency × (1 / days_since_update)`

This means:

- Active topics with recent updates appear at the **top**

- Older topics naturally fade down (but stay accessible)

## Understanding Topic Display

Each topic in the sidebar shows:

### Topic Title

AI-generated concise name:

- "API INTEGRATION"

- "AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM"

- "PROJECT PLANNING"

### Item Count

- "5 items" → 5 memories/tasks grouped under this topic

- Shows you how much information is in each topic

### Time Indicator

- "today" → updated today

- "2d" → updated 2 days ago

- "1w" → updated 1 week ago

## How to Explore a Topic

**Step 1:** Click on any topic in the sidebar

**Step 2:** The assistant panel opens and shows:

- A conversation starter about that topic

- The items (memories and tasks) grouped under it

- All related information in one view

**Step 3:** Interact with the topic:

- Ask questions about it

- Update tasks within it

- Add new related memories

- Search within the topic

## Why This is Revolutionary

### Traditional Organization

- You save notes

- **You** must manually tag them

- **You** must create folders

- **You** must maintain the structure

- Organization becomes a **chore**

### Intangle Organization

- You save information

- **AI** automatically identifies themes

- Topics emerge **naturally**

- Organization happens **invisibly**

## Real-World Example

After 2 weeks of saving work memories, you might see:

- **AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM** (8 items, updated today)

*All security-related memories grouped together*

- **CLIENT COMMUNICATIONS** (12 items, 1d)

*Every client interaction and requirement in one place*

- **API REDESIGN** (15 items, 3d)

*All technical decisions and tasks for the API project*

- **TEAM MEETINGS** (6 items, 1w)

*Meeting notes and action items organized*

- **DEPLOYMENT PROCESS** (4 items, 2w)

*Everything about your deployment workflow*

**You never created these categories** - the AI understood your content and created semantic groupings.

## Topics vs Manual Tags

| Manual Tags | AI-Generated Topics |

|-------------|-------------------|

| Limited to your categorization | Understands semantic relationships |

| Inconsistent naming over time | Consistent and well-named |

| Requires discipline | No maintenance required |

| Static and rigid | Dynamic and adaptive |

You CAN still add your own topic tags when saving, and the AI uses those as hints. But the auto-generation means **you don't HAVE to** tag anything.

## Topic Navigation

Topics replace **chronological chat history** with **semantic navigation**.

### Old Way (traditional apps)

"What did we discuss on Tuesday about authentication?"

- Scroll through timeline

- Try to remember when the conversation happened

- Dig through chat history

### New Way (Intangle topics)

- Click "AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM" topic

- See **everything** related, regardless of when saved

- Grouped by **meaning**, not time

This is a **paradigm shift**: from temporal to semantic organization.

## Watching Topics Evolve

As you use Intangle, watch how topics:

### Emerge

Save 3-4 related memories → A new topic appears

### Grow

Add more information → Topic weight increases, moves up

### Fade

Stop working on something → Topic moves down (but stays accessible)

### Merge

Save information bridging two topics → AI might create a new combined topic

This is **living organization** - it adapts to your current work focus.

## Using Topics from External Tools

You can also interact with topics from connected tools:

```
"What topics do I have in my work space?"
"Show me everything in the Authentication System topic"
"What's in my most recent topic?"
```

The assistant will list your topics and fetch items from specific ones.

## The Value Proposition

### Other Apps

- Static folders and manual tags

- Search by keywords you remember

- Organization is **your job**

### Intangle

- Living, intelligent organization

- Navigate by semantic themes

- Organization is the **AI's job**

**Your job is just to save information. The AI handles the rest.**

## Real-World Scenarios

### Scenario 1: Project Context Switching

You've been away from a project for 2 weeks:

- Click the project's topic in the sidebar

- **Instant context reload** with all relevant memories

- Continue where you left off

### Scenario 2: Cross-Cutting Concerns

You're working on security across multiple projects:

- Topic: **"SECURITY & AUTHENTICATION"**

- The AI groups all security-related info from different projects

- See patterns and shared concerns across your work

### Scenario 3: Knowledge Discovery

You didn't realize how much you'd learned about React:

- Topic: **"REACT DEVELOPMENT"**

- See 47 items accumulated over time

- Your personal React knowledge base, automatically built

## Tips for Success

- **Don't worry about organizing** as you save - just save

- **Check the topics sidebar regularly** to see how the AI groups your info

- **Click on topics to explore** - you might discover connections you hadn't thought of

- **Topics reflect your actual work patterns**, not arbitrary categories

- **The more you save**, the better the topics become

- **Trust the AI** - it's designed to understand semantic relationships
